Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-08
This policy explains what personal data THE 1000 (1000.bankpediaa.net) collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules under it. For this policy, Bankpediaa (operated by Yogesh Kumar) is the “data fiduciary”.
1. What we collect
| Data | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Name and email from your Google account (we do not store your photo or password) | To sign you in, identify your account and send you service emails |
| Username you choose | The only name other members see |
| Instagram username, city, what you do, why you want to join | To understand who is in the community and run it sensibly. You do not need to name your employer. |
| Your consents (what you agreed to, when, from which IP address and browser) | To keep a record that you agreed to the terms, privacy policy and the other join-form statements |
| Payment records: Razorpay subscription and payment IDs, amount, status, date | To give you access, manage renewals and keep accounting records. Your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay and are never seen or stored by us. |
| What you post: discussions and replies | To run the community |
| Technical data: IP address, browser, a session cookie | Security, preventing abuse, keeping you signed in |
We do not collect your phone number, address, Aadhaar or other government IDs, or financial account details.
2. Why we use it, and your consent
We use your data to run your membership, process payments, send service emails (welcome, payment and renewal notices), moderate the community, keep the platform secure and meet legal obligations. We ask for your consent for these purposes on the join page, in clear terms, through separate tick-boxes. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (section 6); this will end your membership and does not affect what we did lawfully before.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
3. Who sees it
- Other members see only your username and what you post. Never your name or email.
- The administrator and any moderator (moderators see only community content and usernames) can see what is needed for their role.
- Service providers who process data for us: Google (sign-in, Meet, YouTube), Razorpay (payments), our web hosting provider and email delivery provider. They act under their own terms and security practices. Some may process data outside India.
- Authorities, where the law requires us to disclose data.
4. Cookies
We set one essential cookie to keep you signed in and protect forms. Google, Razorpay and YouTube may set their own cookies inside their sign-in, payment and video windows. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode.
5. How long we keep it
- Account and profile data: while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your name, email, username, Instagram, city, occupation and join answers.
- Payment and consent records: kept for as long as tax, accounting and other laws require (generally up to 8 years), and then deleted.
- Your forum posts remain, but show as “Former member” after account deletion.
- Technical logs: kept for a short period for security.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may:
- Access your data: use Download my data in your account.
- Correct it: change your username in your account, or write to us for other details.
- Erase it and withdraw consent: use Delete my account in your account. This also cancels any automatic renewal.
- Grievance redressal: write to us and we will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the time the law requires.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of your death or incapacity.
If we do not resolve your grievance, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.
7. Children
THE 1000 is only for people aged 18 and over. You confirm this on the join page. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections, restricted admin access, signed payment confirmations and other reasonable safeguards. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
9. Contact and grievance officer
Grievance contact: Yogesh Kumar, bankpediaa@gmail.com.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or on your dashboard. The version in force is shown at the top of this page.
